The article represents an integral information on the course and character of the heating period 2000/2001 in Prague. From the climatic quantities measured at the observatory Prague-Karlov were determined the values of quantities necessary for the calculation of the heat demand for heating and the climatological data illustrating the weather character of this period in the Czech Republic.

Instead of installing the heat exchanger into the voluminous ventilation equipment the heat exchanger can be installed in the ventilation ductwork in the future. This design solution brings space savings in the ventilation machine room. A draft design of chamber heat exchanger is indicated for dwelling ventilation.
