Practical experience with the operation of combined heat-power (CHP) system is presented in this paper. Operating modes of energy, heat and cold supply for a hospital equipped with co-generation units and also with reserve boiler plant are described. Different alternatives of CHP systems under different conditions are compared. The paper inclu­des various points of view of CHP system operation and usage. Its contribution consists in up-to-date information from the field which should be considered in any reconstruction of a power plant.
