New rule of law in the field of buildings and technologies fire protection. Regulation solving comprehensively techni­cal specifications for fire doors, smoke-tight doors and smoke-tight fire doors in a way having not yet been introdu­ced in the Czech Republic. The new regulation has direct strong ties to Bui/ding Act and to the exercise of the state fire inspection especially when evaluating the bui/dings documentation, exercising the building permission procee­dings and inspection activities.

This paper outlines the current state-of-the-art in integrated building simulation. The ESP-r system is used as an example where integrated simulation is a core philosophy behind the development. The current state and future develop­ments are illustrated with examples. The importance of the interoperability is discussed in the area of airflow, multi-di­mensional conduction, Iighting, CFD, and power f10w modelling. ft is argued that for building simulation to penetrate the profession in the near future, there is a need for appropriate training and professional technology transfer initiatives.
