New rule of law in the field of buildings and technologies fire protection. Regulation solving comprehensively techni­cal specifications for fire doors, smoke-tight doors and smoke-tight fire doors in a way having not yet been introdu­ced in the Czech Republic. The new regulation has direct strong ties to Bui/ding Act and to the exercise of the state fire inspection especially when evaluating the bui/dings documentation, exercising the building permission procee­dings and inspection activities.

The article deals with the knowledge of the dwelling ventilation solution in Sweden. The requirements of the Swedish standards concerning the ventilation intensity may represent an inspiration for application in the Czech Republic. Author shows examples of implemented equipment details that he acquainted himself with. The contribution brings impulses to designers and investors of dwelling buildings.

The article has to contribute to clear up the opinions the application of add air valve in the sewage drains. They are mounted on the intake and waste piping, frequently without more detailed knowledge of conditions for their use. This results sometimes in failures of sanitary appliances odor siphon pots and in sewer gases penetration into the building interior.

The author describes the human physiological reactions to thermal conditions of the environment, indicates the equation of the human body thermal balance and explains the conditions of thermal neutrality, thermal comfort and thermal discomfort.

This paper outlines the current state-of-the-art in integrated building simulation. The ESP-r system is used as an example where integrated simulation is a core philosophy behind the development. The current state and future develop­ments are illustrated with examples. The importance of the interoperability is discussed in the area of airflow, multi-di­mensional conduction, Iighting, CFD, and power f10w modelling. ft is argued that for building simulation to penetrate the profession in the near future, there is a need for appropriate training and professional technology transfer initiatives.

Two examples are presented of the source equipped with heat pumps for the long-distance distribution of heat and cold. In one case the heat is gained from the sewage system of the city of Oslo, in the second case it is gained from sea water that serves as the cold source at the same time.
